IIEE UPLB Student Chapter takes part in the IIEE 17th Regional Student’s Conference

Last October 27-28, members of the IIEE UPLB Student Chapter joined the 17th Regional Student Conference with the theme: LEADERSHIFT: IIEE Rising above Adversity through Passion and Commitment Leading on to Road to Recovery. The highlights of the conference include the 20th Regional Math Wizard and 35th Regional Quiz show wherein the UPLB IIEE Math Team and EE Team participated, respectively. 

The Math team performed well in the quiz contest with just two points shy of qualifying to the national math wizard. The Math team is composed of Fatima Joie Flores, Ariel Aguadera, Geraldenne Velasquez, as a substitute member, and Reign De Vera as the Team Captain. Engr. Rob Christian Caduyac served as the Coach for the Math Team. 

On the other hand, the EE team delivered a good result as well by placing 3rd in the Region IV which made them qualify for the national quiz show. The performance of the EE team this year was like a déjà vu for the quizzers. Same as last year, despite struggling to score points during the first round, the team performed better during the latter part of the contest and succeeded to qualify for the national competition. The EE team is composed of Jed Soberano, Piolo Macaraan, and Fatima Joie Flores as the team captain. Engr. Kyrstynne Ureta, and Engr. Ma.
